As we near the end of the year and officially into the holiday season, we are very thankful for our amazing students, instructors, and our Hand and Stone partners. We are approaching 100 students that are being sponsored by / connected to Hand and Stone locations (99 at last count)! We are thankful to be able to help people realize their dreams, start new careers and help Hand and Stone meet the demand that exists for massage therapists. We are also thankful and excited to announce that we are launching an Esthetics Program and pleased to introduce Betsy Telford, our Director of Esthetics (scroll down to see her profile). If you are in one of these states and are not signed up yet, give us a shout and we can start the process (for UPDATED details on how to start, see the next section). There has been some great progress on the roadmap to state approval for all the other states. Our paperwork has been submitted to Oklahoma, Colorado, and Florida. Maryland and Illinois are next to be submitted!

Step 1: Attend a Discovery Webinar with CEO Pete Medd. These take place every Wednesday at 12:00 pm EST. On these Webinars, you’ll have a chance to learn about the program and ask questions.

Step 2: Fill out the Program Application. Based on the information in the Application, the Partnership Agreement will be generated and sent to you for signature.
Step 3: A 3 meeting series will be scheduled including the Kick-Off call where you will meet your MPower team and get an overview of how the program rolls out. These meetings are for you and your management team. The 3 meetings cover:

Robin B. Anderson
MEd, LMT, BCTMB, CEAS, MLD-C
Robin is the current President of the Massage Therapy Foundation and a massage therapy educator of 10 years. She is the former director of the Massage Therapy Program at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) where she created online and hybrid courses and served as an online learning coordinator for the School of Health Professions. She is a licensed massage therapist of 15 years, currently practicing at Jeffrey Horowitz, MD, Plastic Surgery office. Robin is also an ergonomics specialist in occupational health and wellness, and a published author in peer-reviewed journals on effective teaching methods for massage therapy education and case report outcomes.

Betsy Telford
My husband, Bret, and I have been married for twenty-eight years. We have raised four children who have blessed us with four adorable grandchildren; we also have four Yorkshire Terrier fur babies. Since recently relocating from Texas to north-central Arkansas, we are enjoying spending time exploring the incredible beauty of the Natural State with our daughter and youngest grandson.
With many years in retail management and purchasing, I finally decided, when our youngest two children were in high school, that it was time I pursued my passion for the beauty industry. I attended cosmetology school at the Ogle School in Texas and obtained my operator license in addition to completing their instructor course. Upon graduation, I spent eight years working for the Ogle School, managing, and developing the eight public salons and spas, as well as overseeing various location operations. Most recently, as I wanted to expand my industry knowledge to encompass franchising, I spent two years as a member of the Massage Envy Field Operations Team supporting the sixty-eight franchised locations within North Texas and Oklahoma as a District Manager.
